I hope you enjoy your stay, and the artwork you’ll find throughout the bungalow. I’m a local South Bay artist, and my work comes from a deep connection to the California coast. The ocean, the windswept plants, the waves, the beach volleyball community and our complex mix of cultures inspires my work. I translate these forces into bold lines and gestural marks across large-scale woodcuts, drawings and oil paintings. Unlike the traditional black and white approach to woodcuts, I add color by hand after printing, responding to the textures and tones of the West Coast. I hope the work installed here at the Sea Sprite Beach Club Bungalow adds to the enjoyment of your stay and to your memories of Hermosa Beach..
